In the Eye of the Storm

based on Mark 4: 35-40

Based on the story of Jesus stilling the storm, “In the Eye of the Storm” invites us to find the stillness in the center of our souls that is unshakable, even in the wildest of storms. “Peace, be still.”

Words and Music by Will Rand

The storm swirls around us.

Day after day it ensnares our hope.

God feels far and the light escapes our eye.

Fear takes hold and we lose our stride.

Teacher, do you not care that we are dying?

Have you forsaken your flock as you sleep?

The world darkens without your open eyes.

Stay with us and free us from fear.

Jesus wakes and rebukes the wind

with eyes full of light and clear sight.

Christ cries “Peace! Be Still!”

The wind ceased and there was a dead calm.

Be still in the center of your soul.

Jesus calls us to stillness and to have faith.

Find the stillness in the eye of the storm.

Jesus’ eye.
